The CPIA Visits the Embassy of Zambia in China

On April 13, 2023, Mr. Ru Jialin, Deputy Director of International Affairs at China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA), visited the Embassy of the Republic Zambia in China, and conducted in-depth discussions with Mr. Alfred Likokoto Sililo, Minister Counselor and Charge D’ Affaires, and Mr. Chola Musonda, First Secretary for Economic Cooperation at the Zambian Embassy.
The two sides exchanged ideas on topics including the latest developments of PV industries in China and Zambia, and business cooperation between Chinese and Zambian enterprises, etc. Mr. Sililo noted that Zambia has an open, stable, safe and free business environment, and rich and low-cost natural resources, including water, land, plenty sunshine and mineral resources. Chinese enterprises willing and able to establish PV industries in Zambia would enjoy duty-free and tax-free policies on imports of machinery and equipment into Zambia.
Mr. Musonda shared detailed information on government policies and market situation regarding the PV industry in Zambia. He indicated that Zambia is strategically located for product and energy distribution in the south-central region of Africa, making it the most suitable country for business location. In this regard, the Embassy of Zambia welcomes Chinese enterprises to visit Zambia to explore the abundant business opportunities that prevail in Zambia.
The CPIA and the Zambian Embassy agreed to strengthen communication and enhance cooperation between Chinese and Zambian PV enterprises.
